Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 7 to 8 at the invitation of Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
This will be Modi’s third visit to Malaysia and his first since India and Malaysia upgraded their relationship to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ in August 2024.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will have talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He will also meet members of the Indian community and representatives from industry and business. The 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum will also take place during his visit. India and Malaysia have a long history of friendship, with strong historical, cultural, and civilizational ties.
The relationship is further strengthened by the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, which numbers 2.9 million and is the third largest in the world.
The partnership between India and Malaysia covers many areas and continues to grow.
The Ministry of External Affairs said this visit will give both leaders a chance to review all aspects of their cooperation, including trade, investment, defense, security, maritime cooperation, digital and financial technology, energy, healthcare, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people connections, and to plan for future collaboration that benefits both countries.
